MeshScout for OrcaSlicer

Bring the MeshScout catalog into OrcaSlicer. Search every source from one tab, check the license and price before you commit, and send the model straight onto your plate without hunting through a download folder.

A MeshScout tab next to Prepare and Preview

The plugin adds a real tab inside OrcaSlicer, not a separate window. It follows your light or dark theme and uses the same catalog and ranking as meshscout.net, so a search here returns the same models it does on the website.

What it looks like

A Benchy search inside the MeshScout OrcaSlicer plugin, showing results from MakerWorld, MakerOnline, Thingiverse, Creality Cloud, and GrabCAD with licenses and download counts.

Search every source at once

Type a model name and get every indexed listing in one grid, labelled with the site it came from, the license, and the creator. Nothing is hidden behind a source you would have to visit first.

Your own model catalog

Everything you download or import through MeshScout is kept in a catalog of your own, with folders, search, and source filter. It is separate from any site and stays after you close the slicer.

Set up from inside the slicer

The folders the plugin uses are created for you, and the settings offer this machine's real folders as one-click choices instead of asking you to paste a path.

Install from the Plugins dialog

MeshScout installs like any other OrcaSlicer plugin. Get it from the official plugin hub or the Install plugin button, then activate it in the Plugins dialog.

Install and set up

The docked panel installs as a wheel through OrcaSlicer's plugin system. Five steps, and no dependencies are installed at activation.

  1. Run a build with the plugin API

Use an OrcaSlicer nightly / main build that includes the Python plugin API. Released 2.4.x builds do not have it yet.

  2. Open the Plugins dialog

In OrcaSlicer, open the Plugins dialog from the menu, or use the Install plugin button inside it.

  3. Get MeshScout from the hub

Install the MeshScout plugin from the official OrcaSlicer plugin hub listing. It ships as a pure-Python wheel, so it works on Windows, macOS, and Linux.

  4. Activate the plugin

Tick MeshScout in the Plugins dialog. A MeshScout tab appears next to Prepare, Preview, and Calibration.

  5. Sign in only if you want to

Search and printing work anonymously. Signing in adds collections, follows, and a For You lane, using a device code approved in your browser, so no password touches the slicer.
