Agreement
By using MeshScout, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
MeshScout may update these terms as the service changes. The date above identifies the latest revision. Material changes may also be announced on MeshScout or sent to affected account holders when appropriate. Continued use after an update takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account or use MeshScout's interactive account features. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you may use those features only with permission from a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these terms. Do not use MeshScout if applicable law prohibits you from doing so.
What MeshScout Is
MeshScout is an independent 3D model discovery index. It helps users search and compare model listings from multiple source platforms. MeshScout is not the creator, seller, host, or licensor of third-party models unless specifically stated.
Source Content and Licenses
- Model listings, images, descriptions, files, trademarks, and licenses belong to their respective authors and source platforms.
- MeshScout may display indexed previews and metadata to help users discover source listings.
- MeshScout may create canonical pages and link previews for sufficiently complete public models, creators, collections, sources, and posts. These previews use indexed or user-provided public images and attribution and do not mean MeshScout hosts, owns, licenses, or endorses the underlying model.
- You are responsible for reviewing the original source page, license, attribution requirements, and commercial-use restrictions before downloading, printing, sharing, remixing, selling, or otherwise using a model.
- License summaries shown by MeshScout are informational only and may be incomplete or outdated.
- If a search result appears irrelevant, duplicated, incomplete, incorrectly attributed, broken, or unsafe, use its result-level report control. Use the Contact page for detailed or rights-related reports.
Accounts
Some features require signing in with a supported OAuth provider. You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for activity under your account.
- Usernames must be unique, non-impersonating, and appropriate for public display.
- You may link more than one supported sign-in provider to the same account. At least one sign-in provider must remain linked so you do not lose access.
- Authorized admins may view account security details such as signup method, join date, provider links, and login IP records when needed for support, abuse prevention, or legal concerns.
- MeshScout may disable accounts, revoke roles, or remove access when needed to protect the service or other users.
- Admin and staff permissions are granted at MeshScout's discretion and may be changed or removed.
Collections and User Content
Collections let users save and organize model references. You are responsible for collection names, descriptions, visibility choices, and any notes or user-provided text.
Smart collections automatically mirror up to 500 current matches from a saved search. Matches may be added, removed, reordered, or delayed as the index and source listings change. Pinned and manually added models are retained unless you remove them. Converting a smart collection to static keeps its current models but stops future automatic refreshes.
- Do not use collections to harass, impersonate, spam, mislead, or publish illegal or abusive material.
- Public collections, when enabled or shared, may be visible to others, may show your MeshScout username, and may appear in search engines or link previews when they pass MeshScout's publication-quality checks.
- Authorized admins may review a user's collections when needed for support, moderation, abuse prevention, or legal concerns.
- MeshScout may hide, edit, or remove public-facing user content that violates these terms or creates operational risk.
You keep ownership of content you submit. You give MeshScout a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, and display that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, moderate, and promote the MeshScout feature where you submitted it. This license ends when the content is deleted, except for copies reasonably retained in backups, records required by law, or content already shared by other users.
Creator Profiles and Source Claims
- Only claim or link a creator account that you own or are authorized to manage.
- Claim codes and source-page verification are evidence of control, not a guarantee of identity, ownership, licensing rights, or endorsement.
- The creator setup checklist explains the evidence MeshScout used and helps profile owners review existing settings. Completing it does not transfer ownership of a source account or model and does not replace the source platform's own records.
- You are responsible for profile text, links, donation destinations, commission settings, featured work, and source accounts associated with your profile.
- MeshScout may reject, reverse, merge, separate, or request more proof for a claim when identity signals conflict or a claim appears inaccurate or abusive.
- Unlinking a source removes its association from the MeshScout creator profile but does not require MeshScout to remove otherwise lawful indexed model records from search.
API Access
API keys are issued by authorized staff. Users may not generate their own keys unless MeshScout later adds that feature.
- Keep API keys private. Do not publish, resell, share, or embed private keys in public client-side code.
- API access is rate limited and may be tiered, changed, paused, or revoked.
- Do not use the API to overload the service, evade rate limits, bulk-copy the database, attack source platforms, or violate third-party rights.
- API responses are provided as indexed data and may be incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate.
Analytics
MeshScout uses a self-hosted Matomo analytics instance to understand how the website is used and how to improve it. Analytics may include searches, page views, model views, collection interactions, material searches, outbound source/vendor clicks, device/browser details, approximate location, and visit activity.
Analytics data is used to improve MeshScout's search relevance, indexing quality, navigation, performance, reliability, abuse prevention, and feature planning. MeshScout does not sell Matomo analytics data.
For You
For You is an opt-in personalized discovery feature. It is available only to signed-in users who have analytics turned on. MeshScout may use your model views, source opens, saved models, liked creators, and For You feedback to suggest models that may be more relevant to you.
Recommendations are generated from MeshScout's indexed data and may be incomplete, repetitive, delayed, or occasionally off target. You are still responsible for checking each source page, model license, and author information before downloading, printing, sharing, or using a model commercially.
If you turn analytics off, For You will not be shown for your account. MeshScout may keep limited operational records needed for security, debugging, or legal reasons, as explained in the Privacy Policy.
Recommendation explanations describe signals used by MeshScout's ranking system, not factual claims about a model, creator, or your intent. Source, category, and tag mutes are preference controls and may take a short time to propagate through cached feeds.
Search Feedback and Corrections
Result-level feedback helps MeshScout investigate search relevance, duplicate grouping, creator attribution, images, model details, and sensitive-preview handling. Reports may be rate limited, deduplicated, reviewed, dismissed, or combined with other evidence.
A report is not proof that a listing is wrong and does not automatically alter, hide, merge, or delete public catalog data. Do not submit knowingly false, retaliatory, repetitive, or abusive reports. Detailed legal, ownership, privacy, or takedown requests must still use the Contact page or support email with sufficient evidence.
Watches and Listing Changes
Watches are convenience tools for signed-in users. They do not guarantee that MeshScout will detect or deliver every new model, creator upload, price change, paid-to-free conversion, license change, or source outage. Source listings and terms remain authoritative.
Watch previews, activity estimates, tests, and digest previews use the indexed information available at the time they run. They are estimates and may differ from later notifications as source listings, grouping, indexing, or filters change. Quiet hours delay email delivery but do not stop in-app activity from being recorded.
- Model Watches evaluate all known public variants of a grouped model, but unknown or newly ungrouped variants may not be included immediately.
- Prices are recorded in the source currency. MeshScout does not compare different currencies numerically without conversion data.
- Email digests depend on your global email preference, saved cadence, timezone, and successful email delivery.
- You may mute, pause, or delete a Watch. Unfollowing a creator removes the corresponding creator Watch.
Source Comparison and Provenance
MeshScout may recommend one known source variant using reachability, current access type, exact source license wording, comparable same-currency price, freshness, metadata quality, creator confidence, and source health. This score is a discovery aid, not legal, financial, quality, or safety advice.
Account source preferences and per-search source choices affect which known grouped listing opens first. They do not hide other indexed variants, guarantee that a listing is available, or replace your responsibility to review the exact source page.
License wording, price, availability, creator identity, and timestamps may be incomplete or stale. Always review the selected source page before downloading, buying, printing, sharing, or using a model commercially.
Model Lineage
Model lineage is a discovery aid for source-attributed or staff-reviewed relationships between originals, remixes, derivatives, versions, and cross-posts. MeshScout does not publish a lineage relationship from title similarity alone.
A lineage relationship does not prove authorship, ownership, permission, license compatibility, or lawful reuse. Always review the linked source evidence, original listing, attribution requirements, and license terms before using or redistributing a model.
Community Corrections
You may suggest a correction only when you have a good-faith reason and public evidence supporting it. Do not submit fabricated evidence, private personal information, harassment, spam, malicious links, or claims intended to misrepresent a creator, source, license, or model relationship.
Correction proposals are advisory and remain subject to staff review. Claimed creator status or a history of useful corrections may change review order, but does not guarantee acceptance or permit automatic catalog changes. MeshScout may reject, reopen, retain for audit, or act on a proposal after checking the source evidence.
Browser Companion
The Browser Companion is an optional, read-only summary of information already indexed by MeshScout. It may be incomplete, delayed, grouped incorrectly, or different from the current source page. The source listing, its creator, price, availability, download terms, and exact license wording remain authoritative.
The Companion must not be used to imply that MeshScout owns, hosts, endorses, verifies the legality of, or guarantees access to a model. Its browser shortcut opens MeshScout in a separate page and does not grant MeshScout permission to modify the source website.
Creator Commissions
Eligible creators may choose to accept private commission requests through MeshScout. MeshScout provides the request inbox and conversation tools only; it is not a party to an agreement between a buyer and creator.
- Creators may accept, decline, or close a request. Buyers may cancel a pending request.
- Buyers and creators are responsible for agreeing on scope, timing, revisions, delivery, ownership, licenses, refunds, and any other terms.
- Payments must be arranged directly between the buyer and creator. MeshScout does not collect, hold, route, refund, guarantee, or arbitrate commission payments.
- Do not use commission conversations for spam, harassment, fraud, illegal requests, malware, payment abuse, or attempts to obtain sensitive credentials.
- MeshScout may restrict access to commission tools or review relevant records when reasonably necessary for safety, abuse prevention, support, or legal obligations.
Donations and Supporter Badges
MeshScout may accept voluntary donations through Ko-fi, Buy Me a Coffee, or another donation provider to help support hosting, indexing, storage, bandwidth, search, and hardware costs. Donations are optional and are not required to use MeshScout.
Donation providers and their payment partners handle checkout and payment processing. Their terms, refund rules, chargeback rules, dispute processes, and payment availability may apply to the transaction. MeshScout does not process or store full card, bank, or PayPal credentials.
For accidental payments, refund questions, or other payment problems, contact MeshScout with the provider, payment date, and receipt reference. Refund requests are reviewed under the payment provider’s rules and applicable law. Do not send card or bank details.
Cancelling voluntary support, requesting a refund, or opening a payment dispute does not by itself suspend a MeshScout account or remove feature access. Separate, substantiated fraud or abuse may still be reviewed under the account and acceptable-use rules. Manage or cancel recurring support through the provider used for checkout; deleting a MeshScout account does not cancel a provider subscription.
When a donation is confirmed, MeshScout may use the donation email, display name, amount, currency, provider transaction identifier, and related details to record the donation, prevent duplicate processing, handle payment questions or disputes, and add a supporter badge to a matching MeshScout account. Supporter badges acknowledge past support. They do not grant additional feature access, preferred search placement, or a service guarantee, and do not indicate that a recurring payment is still active.
Acceptable Use
- Do not attempt to break, bypass, scrape, overload, reverse engineer, or interfere with MeshScout systems.
- Do not use MeshScout to violate laws, licenses, platform terms, intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or security controls.
- Do not submit malware, credential dumps, spam, deceptive content, or abusive reports.
- Do not bypass or interfere with anti-abuse protections, including rate limits, API key controls, and reCAPTCHA checks used to protect public forms.
- Do not misrepresent MeshScout as affiliated with source platforms unless an official relationship is explicitly stated.
Anti-Spam Checks
MeshScout may use Google reCAPTCHA and similar anti-abuse tools to protect public forms, support channels, accounts, and APIs from spam, automated submissions, and security abuse. Use of protected forms may require those checks to run before a submission is accepted.
Deals
MeshScout may display material and retailer listings. MeshScout is not the merchant, seller, manufacturer, shipper, or payment processor for those products. Product names, classifications, colors, pack sizes, prices, unit prices, stock status, discounts, taxes, shipping, and availability may be incomplete or change without notice. Verify the listing and purchase terms on the seller's site before buying.
Third-Party Services
MeshScout links to model repositories, retailers, creator websites, donation providers, authentication providers, and other third-party services. A link or indexed listing does not mean MeshScout endorses, controls, or guarantees that service. Your use of a third-party service is governed by its own terms, privacy policy, licenses, purchase rules, and dispute process.
Rights and Listing Reports
MeshScout respects intellectual property, privacy, and publicity rights. If you believe an indexed preview, profile, comment, collection, or other listing infringes your rights or is materially inaccurate, send a sufficiently detailed report through the Contact page or to [email protected]. Include the affected URL, the right or error involved, your relationship to it, and a reliable way to contact you.
MeshScout may request additional information, forward a report to the relevant user or source platform, restrict a listing while reviewing it, or direct file-removal requests to the platform that actually hosts the model files.
No Warranty
MeshScout is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, complete indexing, perfect search relevance, accurate licenses, correct metadata, error-free operation, or availability of any particular source platform, model, API endpoint, collection, or feature.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MeshScout and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; lost profits; lost data; printing failures; purchases; licensing disputes; or third-party content issues arising from use of the service.
Enforcement
MeshScout may investigate suspected abuse, remove or hide content, revoke API keys, rate limit traffic, disable accounts, block requests, or contact service providers when needed to protect the platform, users, or source rights holders.
Suspension and Termination
You may stop using MeshScout at any time and may request account deletion through the Contact page. MeshScout may suspend or terminate access, with or without prior notice when reasonably necessary, for violations of these terms, legal requirements, security threats, fraud, repeated abuse, prolonged service discontinuation, or risk to users or the platform.
Terms that by their nature should continue after termination, including ownership, third-party rights, warranty disclaimers, limitations of liability, enforcement records, and commission obligations between users, remain effective.
